Operation Sindoor on Hold: India’s Diplomat Pushes for Global Anti-Terror Alliance

India’s Ambassador to Israel, JP Singh, has stressed the need for global unity in the fight against terrorism, clarifying that while Operation Sindoor is currently paused, it is by no means over.

Speaking to Israel’s i24 news channel, Singh urged Pakistan to hand over key terror suspects—Hafiz Saeed, Sajid Mir, and Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi. He drew a sharp parallel to the U.S. move to extradite 26/11 accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana to India, reinforcing the demand for accountability.

Singh explained that India initiated the operation following attacks carried out by Pakistan-based terrorist groups. He referred to the April 22 incident in Pahalgam, where civilians were deliberately targeted due to their religious identity.

Referring to the April 22 Pahalgam attack, the Indian ambassador said that the terrorists targeted people after asking their religion, and 26 innocent people lost their lives in the incident.

He added that India’s action targeted terrorist groups and their bases, but in response, Pakistan attacked Indian military sites.

When asked if the conflict had ended, Singh explained that the ceasefire is still in place, but clearly stated that Operation Sindoor is only on hold—not finished yet. Singh also highlighted an important change in how India is dealing with terrorism.

He firmly stated that the fight against terrorism will go on. India has now adopted a new approach — an offensive one. He said that terrorists and their bases must be eliminated wherever they are found. While the operation isn’t over yet, the ceasefire is still holding for now.

Talking about India’s strike on Pakistan’s Nur Khan airbase on May 10, Singh called it a turning point that caused panic in Pakistan’s military. He said the attack made Pakistan’s top military official quickly contact the Indian side to request a ceasefire.

Singh’s comments show that India is taking a strong and active approach against cross-border terrorism, while also urging the world to work together to fight this threat.
